We cut these loose through the thigh and leg, borrowing the ease of a palazzo and the drop of a harem pant. The coffee and off-white stripe runs top to bottom to ground the volume. Linen lets air through, while the blend holds the shape through daily wear.

• Elastic drawstring waist. A gathered elastic band sits comfortably across the waist and stays put. We added a flat drawstring through the casing so you can adjust the gather and tie it where you want the rise to settle.
• Dropped side pockets. We set deep patch pockets low on the hip. They sit flat against the side seam when empty and pull slightly with the drape of the fabric when you rest your hands inside.
• Palazzo harem leg. The cut stays roomy from the hip down to the wide open hem. It hangs straight rather than clinging, moving freely around the leg as you walk.
• Washing and care. Wash on a gentle cycle in cool or lukewarm water, or wash by hand. Hang the pants to dry so the linen blend relaxes naturally, and steam press if you want the stripes crisp.
