We cut these very loose through the thigh with a dropped harem line that settles into a wide palazzo hem. The linen blend is light, open, and tinted in a pale aqua blue. An elastic waistband with an adjustable cord keeps the waist flat and secure while the leg carries the volume.

Wide leg with dropped volume. The cut borrows from both a wide palazzo and a low-slung harem pant. Fabric falls straight from the widest point of the hip down to an open hem, leaving plenty of room through the seat and legs for hot weather.
Elastic waist and cord. The waistband combines internal elastic with a flat drawstring threaded through the front. It pulls on without fasteners, rests flat across the hips, and stays in place as the linen relaxes during the day.
Linen blend in aqua blue. We used a lightweight linen blend with an open weave that vents heat and softens after washing. The aqua blue shade gives the fabric a clear, cool tint that pairs easily with unbleached tops and dark work shirts.
Wash and air dry. Hand wash or use a gentle cycle with cold or lukewarm water. Hang them on a line to air dry away from direct heat to protect the yarn. A warm steam iron takes out hard packing creases if needed.
