We cut these very loose through the thigh and hem so the linen blend moves away from the skin. The black and white vertical stripe runs straight down the leg to keep the wide silhouette clean. A soft elastic waistband sits easy at the midsection, anchored with an adjustable cord.

• Wide stripe pattern. The bold black and white vertical stripes run cleanly from waistband to hem. Cutting wide bands of alternating tone gives the loose palazzo shape clear graphic structure while the fabric shifts as you walk.
• Loose palazzo leg. We took inspiration from roomy harem shapes, dropping the seat and opening the leg wide all the way down. The cut stays well clear of the knees and calves, allowing heat to vent through the weave.
• Adjustable elastic waist. An elastic core keeps the waistband flexible against the waist without digging in. We threaded a flat fabric drawstring through the front so you can cinch the rise higher or let it sit lower on the hips.
• Care and wash. Wash on a gentle cycle in cool or lukewarm water, or wash by hand. Hang the pants on a line to dry naturally. Use a warm steam iron to relax the weave if you prefer fewer creases.
