We cut these barrel trousers from ribbed corduroy with a mid-weight feel for cool mornings. The high rise settles comfortably on the natural waist with an elastic band and a cord tie. Deep side pockets hold your everyday essentials, while the leg bows outward before falling straight.

• High elastic waistband. The casing holds a broad elastic band that stays flat without pinching. An adjustable drawcord lets you cinch the waist tighter when you layer a knit or tee underneath.
• Curved barrel leg. We gave the legs plenty of room across the thigh and calf, cutting a gentle curve that tapers slightly near the bottom hem. The corduroy ribs run vertically down the cut.
• Deep front pockets. Two inset side pockets are stitched into the forward seams so they sit flat when empty. They are deep enough to take a phone or keep your hands out of the wind.
• Washing and care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle or wash by hand to protect the ribbed texture. Lay them flat in the shade to dry so the corduroy holds its soft nap.
