We cut these trousers from a midweight corduroy printed with pale dots over an army green ground. The waist sits high with an elastic casing and an adjustable drawstring, while the legs bow out through the thigh and taper slightly at the cropped hem. Two deep pockets sit flat at the front.

• High waist casing. An elastic waistband keeps the rise secure without pinching, backed by a matching drawstring so you can adjust the fit across the hips. The band sits flat and stays put.
• Ribbed corduroy cloth. The ridged pile holds warmth through cool mornings and adds a soft texture to the dot pattern. We chose a medium-weight cloth that keeps the barrel shape distinct without feeling stiff.
