A curved barrel leg gives these blue trousers their volume without dragging at the hem. We chose a medium-weight corduroy that holds its ribs and blocks cold drafts. The high waist pulls on quickly over an elastic channel, adjusted by an external cord.

• Ribbed corduroy cloth. The ribs run vertically down the blue cloth, giving the surface a soft hand and enough substance for colder weather. It holds the rounded leg shape firmly while remaining pliable through the knee.
• High drawstring waist. An elastic waistband sits high on the natural waist. We threaded a matching cord through the casing so you can reset the tension over tucked sweaters or lighter base layers.
• Barrel leg shape. The pattern curves out gently through the thigh and tapers back slightly toward the ankle. This keeps the hem clean above low shoes and boots while leaving ample room through the leg.
• Pockets and care. Two deep front pockets sit flat against the hip for daily use. Wash on a cold cycle or by hand, skip the bleach, and lay the trousers flat in the shade to dry.
