We cut these with deep volume through the leg and a gentle taper toward the hem. The dark red and white stripe pattern runs vertically down the linen blend weave. An elastic waistband with an exterior tie keeps the fit easy at the waist.

• Barrel leg cut. The wide leg bows out through the calf and pulls back slightly at the hem. It gives the fabric room to sway while keeping the bottom opening clear of the ground.
• Drawstring waist. We built the waistband with a wide elastic core and added a front drawcord. You can tie it snug or let it sit loose on the hips.
• Dropped side pockets. The pockets sit low along the side seams where the leg carries its widest shape. They lie flat against the stripe pattern when empty and hold small items easily.
