A wide leg cut from a light linen blend in coffee-and-cream vertical stripes. The waistband pulls on with wide elastic and adjusts with an exterior tie. We dropped the crotch and shaped the leg wide through the thigh before letting it fall straight to the hem.

• Gathered waistband and tie. We built the waist with an elastic core that holds without cutting into the middle. The flat fabric drawstring ties in front to anchor the rise wherever you want it to sit.
• Wide barrel cut. The leg cut is full through the hip and stays roomy down to the bottom opening. It vents heat on hot days and leaves plenty of space for walking.
• Dropped side pockets. We set deep pockets low into the side seams where your hands land naturally. They sit flat against the hip without breaking the line of the vertical stripe.
• Linen care and wash. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle or wash by hand. Hang the pants to line dry to protect the weave and let the linen soften with each cycle.
