A wide, shirred waistband anchors these loose summer shorts, letting the fabric fall straight through the hip. The woven yellow stripe runs vertically along the leg to give the relaxed cut clean definition. They pull on without hardware and stay put through hot days.

  • Shirred high waist. We sew a deep band of elastic smocking at the waist. It gathers the top securely, stretches easily as you move, and eliminates the bulk of buttons or drawstrings.
  • Open leg cut. The legs fall wide and straight from the hip down to a clean hem. Air moves freely through the open shape, so the fabric stays off the thighs during warm weather.
  • Woven yellow stripe. A vertical yellow stripe is woven directly into the fabric rather than printed on top. The light stripe pairs well with plain tanks and simple loose tees.
  • Lyocell linen blend. The woven blend combines the airy drape of linen with the soft hand of lyocell. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and hang dry to maintain the texture.
