We cut these loose pull-on shorts with plenty of room through the thigh so air moves around you on warm afternoons. The high waistband uses rows of soft shirred elastic that sit flat without pinching. A lightweight woven blend gives the purple stripe a dry, clean drape.

• Smocked elastic waistband. Multiple rows of gathered stitching create a wide waistband that stays put without a drawstring. It settles high on the waist and expands easily as you move.
• Wide leg opening. We kept the leg wide and straight down to the hem. The fabric falls away from the thigh instead of clinging, keeping the cut relaxed for lounging or walking.
• Side slip pockets. Two set-in pockets sit along the side seams. They run deep enough to carry small daily items without pulling the waistband down or breaking the line of the stripe.
• Woven stripe care. Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle to protect the stitching and line work. Tumble dry on low heat or hang them up to air dry and soften over time.
