We cut these summer shorts with a wide leg opening and a high rise so the fabric clears the thighs entirely. The lightweight lyocell blend breathes well in humid heat and softens with every wash. An elastic smocked band anchors the waist without digging.

  • Smocked high waistband. A wide band of gathered elastic sits high on the waist. It pulls on easily, holds its position without a drawstring, and flexes as you sit or bend.
  • Wide loose leg. The leg drops straight and loose from the hip with plenty of room around the thigh. Air moves through the opening easily on hot days.
  • Soft striped weave. We weave this pale bean paste red and white stripe in a lightweight lyocell blend. The cloth stays airy, falls without cling, and wrinkles softly with wear.
  • Cold wash care. Wash on a gentle cycle in cold water and hang dry or tumble on low heat. The fabric softens after washing while the stripes hold their muted tone.
