We cut these summer shorts with a wide leg opening so the fabric hangs away from the thigh. The high waist uses gathered elastic smocking that settles flat without pinching. A lightweight woven blend vents warm air, softens with each wash, and dries quickly on a line.

  • Smocked high waistband. Wide rows of elastic thread gather the high rise into a flexible band. It stays put through the day without digging into your waist.
  • Roomy leg cut. The legs are cut wide through the thigh to let air move freely. They finish with a clean turned hem that holds its shape.
  • Side seam pockets. Deep pockets sit right along the side seams. They stay flat against your hip when empty and hold small essentials without pulling down the waist.
  • Linen blend care. Wash cold on a gentle cycle and hang dry or tumble low. The yarn-dyed coffee and white check retains its tone as the cloth softens.
