We cut these wide palazzo legs with high slits at the outer seams so the fabric splits as you move. The linen is light, dyed in an army green dot print, and cropped to clear the foot. An elastic waist with a self fabric drawcord sets the rise.

• Leg cut and side slits. The leg runs straight and wide from the hip down. High slits on the outer seams let the panels swing open when you walk, venting heat through the open hemline.
• Waistband and rise. We built the waistband with a wide elastic core and threaded a flat drawcord through the front. It rests at the natural waist without pinching or pulling tight when seated.
• Dot pattern and fabric. The linen weave uses an olive green ground printed with small white dots. It is light enough to ripple in a cross breeze and softens up after the first rinse.
• Care and wash. Wash in cool or warm water on a gentle cycle, or wash by hand. Hang them up to dry away from high heat. A quick pass with a steam iron smooths the fold lines.
