We cut these cropped palazzo pants wide through the thigh and split the outseam high toward the knee. The hem curves up at the sides so the linen clears the ground and moves freely. An elastic waistband with an exterior drawcord keeps the rise steady throughout the day.

• High split outseam. The outer seams open into high side vents that let the legs separate as you walk. Rounded lower hems soften the profile and keep the cropped linen light around the ankles.
• Drawcord waist construction. We gathered the top edge over an elastic core and ran a flat cord through the tunnel. It sits flat across the middle and ties to hold the rise where you prefer.
• Dark coffee linen. We chose a deep coffee shade for this lightweight weave. The linen hangs straight from the hip, softens with every wash, and lets air move through the open cut.
• Washing and line drying. Wash on a gentle cycle in cool water or wash by hand. Hang the pants on a line to dry naturally without heat, and use a warm steam iron to relax the creases.
