We cut these bloomers with a wide lantern leg that narrows at the calf into banded lace ruffles. The linen blend is light and holds its own drape away from the leg. A drawstring waistband lets you set the rise where you want it. Side pockets sit flat into the vertical stripe.

• Leg shape and volume. The leg balloons outward through the thigh and knee before drawing back in above the ankle. That extra width lets air move through the weave. It creates a soft lantern line that stays away from the skin.
