A soft corduroy cut with rounded barrel legs that bow out through the calf before tapering toward the ankle. We built the top with a wide elastic channel and an adjustable drawstring so the waist stays put without binding. The black and white dot pattern gives the ribbed wales an easy, broken-up surface for cold weather wear.

• Curved barrel leg. The leg cuts wide through the thigh, curves outward past the knee, and pulls back in slightly at the ankle. That rounded volume keeps the corduroy away from the skin while holding its shape as you walk.
• Drawstring elastic waist. We gathered the top over a broad elastic band and threaded an external drawstring through the front. It settles where you pull it, sitting flat under thick sweaters or loose henleys.
• Deep side pockets. Two open pockets sit along the side seams, cut deep enough to hold a phone or cold hands. We reinforced the lower pocket bags so they do not sag below the waistband line.
• Washed dot corduroy. The cotton-rich corduroy ribs trap warmth between the wales while venting air through the weave. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, skip the bleach, and tumble dry low to keep the pile soft.
