We cut these pants from black ribbed corduroy to hold warmth when the weather turns cool. The waistband pairs a wide elastic band with an adjustable drawstring, while the legs bow out through the knee and taper slightly toward the hem. They sit loose through the seat and thighs for easy movement.

• Corduroy fabric. The ribbed cotton-blend corduroy has enough weight to hold the barrel shape without feeling stiff. It traps warm air along the ridges, softens with repeated washing, and is dyed a solid, deep black.
• Barrel leg shape. The volume starts at the hips, curves outward through the mid-leg, and gathers inward slightly at the ankle. This shape leaves plenty of room through the calves without dragging on the ground.
• Waistband construction. A gathered elastic casing sits flat across the waist and stays put without pinching. We added an exterior drawstring cord so you can adjust the tension depending on what layers you tuck in.
• Pockets and care. Deep patch pockets are stitched directly into the side seams to carry everyday items without pulling the waist down. Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle and tumble dry on low heat.
