We cut these from medium-weight corduroy for cooler mornings. The waist pulls on with a full elastic band and a flat tie, while the legs bow wide through the calf before tapering back in toward the ankle. The beige ground carries a small black dot print that breaks up the rib.

• Barrel leg cut. The pattern arcs out from the hip, holds its volume through the knee, and pulls back slightly at the hem. That bowed shape gives the heavy ribbed cloth room to break naturally without dragging along the ground.
• Drawstring elastic waist. A broad elastic casing runs all the way around the top. We threaded a matching cord through the front so you can pull the waist tight or let it rest lower on the hips.
• Deep side pockets. The pockets sit right in the side seams and drop deep enough for a large phone or a cold hand. We reinforced the lower opening so the pocket bags do not peek out when the legs move.
• Cold water care. Wash this corduroy on a gentle cold cycle or wash it by hand to keep the raised ribs soft. Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry to avoid creasing, and avoid bleach entirely.
