We cut these pants from midweight corduroy to hold warmth without stiffness. The barrel leg curves out at the thigh and narrows slightly toward the hem, leaving plenty of room through the seat. An elastic waist with a flat drawstring anchors the rise so the wide legs can hang loose.

• Barrel leg shape. The wide leg bows out through the thigh and tapers back at the ankle. This curved shape gives the thick corduroy space to fold naturally as you walk, rather than falling in a flat drape.
• Elastic drawstring waist. We built the waistband with a wide internal elastic band and added an exterior drawstring. You can cinch it tight or let it rest lower on the hip without pinching your waist.
• Deep side pockets. Two open pockets sit flat along the side seams. We cut them deep enough to carry your phone or keys without distorting the outer line of the corduroy leg.
• Corduroy wash care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle or wash by hand. Tumble dry on low heat to keep the ribbed texture raised and soft. Do not use bleach.
