We cut these trousers from ribbed corduroy with a straight, generous leg that falls clean from the hip. The high rise anchors on an elastic casing threaded with a matching tie. Soft ribs hold warmth when the weather turns cooler, while the wide hem gives the fabric room to swing as you walk.

• High drawstring waistband. An elasticated band sits high on the waist, gathered over a flat front tie so you can adjust the tension. It anchors the top without digging into your ribs when you sit.
• Straight wide leg. We ran the side seams straight from the upper thigh down to the hem. The loose volume gives your knees full clearance and lets the ribbed wales run in long, unbroken vertical lines.
• Light Apricot corduroy. The cloth is a soft, midweight corduroy dyed to a pale apricot tone. The raised wales catch the light across the weave, adding texture and holding warmth through the cooler months.
• Washing and care. Wash cold on a gentle cycle to keep the pile from crushing, then hang the trousers straight to dry. A quick steam on the reverse side lifts the ribs back up without pressing them flat.
