We cut these trousers from midweight corduroy in an earthy green shade for cooler days. The high waist combines an elastic band with an adjustable drawstring, while the straight wide leg falls clear of the ankle without clinging. Ribbed texture adds warmth and body to the drape.

• High drawstring waist. An elastic channel sits high on the waist, secured by an exterior drawstring cord. You can cinch it tighter or leave it loose, keeping the band flat against your middle without stiff hardware.
• Straight wide leg. The leg runs straight from the hip down to the floor, giving your knees and calves plenty of room. The cut hangs straight and holds its shape rather than tapering in at the bottom.
• Ribbed corduroy cloth. We selected a soft corduroy fabric with raised wales that trap air and hold warmth. The textile has enough natural weight to give the wide hem a steady drop as you walk.
• Care and wash. Turn the trousers inside out before laundering to protect the raised ridges of the corduroy pile. Machine wash in cool water on a gentle cycle, then line dry to preserve the green dye and texture.
