We cut these high-waisted trousers from ribbed corduroy in a deep forest green. The leg falls straight and wide from the hip down to a clean hem, giving the heavy fabric room to drape. An elastic waistband with a front drawstring keeps the rise set without binding when you sit.

• High drawstring waist. An elastic channel wraps the high rise, paired with a flat drawstring so you can knot the waistband where you like. It stays flat against the waist and adjusts without bunching.
• Straight wide leg. The leg cuts straight down from the hip with plenty of width through the thigh and calf. The heavier corduroy gives the wide hem enough weight to hold its line while walking.
• Dark green corduroy. Woven ribs run vertically down the cloth, catching light across the dark green dye and trapping warmth. The fabric is soft to the touch and thick enough for cooler months.
