We cut these lantern pants with generous room through the thigh and gathered them back at the hem with soft lace trim. The lightweight linen blend keeps the silhouette airy. A functional drawstring sits inside the elastic waist so you can adjust the rise as you like.

• Gathered lace hem. The lower leg gathers in above the ankle and finishes with a band of open lace and small ruffles. This shape keeps the volume controlled at your shoes while leaving the calf loose.
• Elastic and drawstring waist. We built the waistband with a wide elastic core and added front tie straps. You can pull them tighter for a higher placement or let them sit lower across the hips.
• Linen blend drape. The cloth mixes linen with softer yarns to give the lantern leg a fluid hang. The open weave lets air pass through, and the fabric softens with each cycle through the wash.
• Care and maintenance. Wash on a gentle machine cycle or by hand in cool water. Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry to keep the lace edges flat, and use a warm iron if you prefer fewer wrinkles.
