We cut these bloomer pants with generous lantern volume through the calves and finish the cropped hems in rows of gathered lace. The purple and white stripe runs vertical along the leg to give the wide cut some direction. An elastic waistband with a front drawstring anchors the rise so the legs hang loose.

• Ruffled lace hem. The lower leg gathers inward before releasing into tiers of lightweight lace trim. This tapered cuff holds the lantern shape above the ankle while keeping the opening soft against the foot.
• Elastic waist with ties. We built the waistband with a wide elastic core that sits flat without binding. Functional front drawstrings let you cinch the waist tighter when you load the side pockets.
• Purple stripe linen blend. The linen-blend weave vents warm air and softens with each cycle through the laundry. Woven purple and white stripes break up the surface without adding weight to the drape.
