We cut these loose bloomers with a wide lantern leg that gathers in above the ankle under a band of ruffled lace. The linen blend keeps the fabric light and airy for warm afternoons. An elastic waistband with front ties anchors the rise without binding.

Lantern leg shape. The pattern curves outward through the thigh and calf before pulling back in at the lower calf. This lantern shape leaves ample room around the knee so the fabric moves without catching.
Lace hem ruffle. A band of vintage-style lace trims the gathered cuff at the bottom of each leg. The ruffle sits light against the skin, finishing the hem with a gathered edge rather than a flat seam.
Waistband with ties. We built the waist with a broad elastic channel and threaded functional front drawstrings through the center. You pull the cord to set the exact tension you want around your hips.
Linen blend care. The woven yarn carries fine vertical stripes in muted green and white. Wash on a gentle cycle or by hand in cool water, skip the bleach, and tumble dry on low heat to keep the lace soft.
