We cut these loose lantern bloomers from a light linen blend dyed in a soft light blue purple. The leg gathers deep through the calf and finishes with tiered lace at the hem. An elastic drawstring waist keeps the fit easy across the hips. Side pockets sit flat along the seams.

• Elastic drawstring waistband. We gathered the top block on a wide elastic band and threaded a working drawstring through the front. It sits where you place it without digging into the waist.
• Lantern leg and lace hem. The pant legs billow out through the knee before gathering back in at the lower calf. A row of soft lace trims the ruffle cuffs to weight the hem.
