We cut these loose lantern bloomers from a lightweight linen blend in solid black. The legs billow out through the thigh and gather back into tiered lace ruffles at the lower calf. A combined elastic band and front drawstring keeps the waist where you set it.

• Lantern leg shape. The pattern arches wide through the hips and thighs before tapering down toward the calf. This creates a rounded bloomer profile that stays loose off the skin while you move.
• Tiered lace cuffs. We finished each lower hem with bands of tonal lace and gathered fabric ruffles. The cuffs cinch lightly below the knee to hold the leg volume in place without binding.
• Elastic drawstring waist. An elastic channel circles the entire waist, reinforced with a self-fabric tie cord at the front. It pulls tight or loosens as needed without pinching the midsection.
