We cut these palazzo trousers from a light linen blend in a muted gray-blue check. The elastic waist uses an integrated drawstring so the rise sits where you want it. Down at the ankle, the wide leg ends in a small ruffle that adds weight to the lower hem. Side pockets sit flat into the seams.

• Ruffled leg hem. The wide palazzo leg finishes with an gathered ruffle at the base. That extra seam adds just enough weight at the cuff to keep the linen blend hanging straight down rather than catching against the leg when you walk.
• Drawstring elastic waistband. We built the high waist with an elastic core and an adjustable front drawstring. It anchors the top securely without pinching, allowing the fabric below the band to fall into soft, loose gathers around the hips.
• Light gray blue check. The yarn-dyed plaid combines pale gray and washed blue into a quiet, vintage-inspired check. Because the weave is open, the fabric vents warm air easily and softens gradually with each trip through the wash.
