We cut these gauchos with generous width through the thigh and finished them well above the ankle. The knit jersey has enough stretch to give when you sit, while the deep dark coffee shade holds up to repeat washing. An elastic waist with a functional drawstring keeps the rise where you set it.

• Adjustable drawstring waistband. The wide waistband encases a soft elastic band backed by an outer drawcord. You can tie it snug at the natural waist or loosen it to let the crotch drop lower on the hips.
• Cropped palazzo leg. We gave the legs full palazzo volume that falls straight down to the mid-calf. The wide, open hem lets air move freely around the lower leg while keeping the fabric clear of the ground.
• Side seam pockets. Two deep pockets sit right into the side seams so they lie flat when empty. They are set deep enough to hold a phone or keys without dragging the waistband down.
