We cut these gaucho culottes with extra room through the thigh and calf. The cropped hem stops well clear of the ankle so the wide opening swings freely as you walk. An elastic band and matching drawcord keep the rise steady at the natural waist.

Waistband and drawcord. We gathered the waist on a wide elastic band and threaded a self-fabric drawstring through the front. You can cinch it tight or let it sit easy without the casing rolling over.
Cropped wide leg. The leg flares straight out from the hip down to a broad calf hem. That extra width lets air move around the skin and keeps the fabric from binding behind the knee.
Deep side pockets. We set practical slash pockets into the side seams. They sit flat against the hip when empty and stay deep enough to carry a phone or keys without dragging the waistband down.
Army green knit. The soft knit jersey holds a muted army green tone and gives with your movement. Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water and hang dry to preserve the stretch recovery.
