We built these sweatpants with a generous barrel leg that tapers slightly near the ankles. The high elastic waistband pulls on without fuss and stays flat against the waist. We chose a soft cotton-blend knit in light gray blue that holds its shape through regular wash cycles.

• High elastic waistband. The waistband sits high and uses wide elastic to distribute tension evenly. It holds the trousers in place through walking or lounging without digging into your middle.
• Barrel leg cut. We cut the legs wide through the thighs and knees, then curve them gently inward toward the hem. This shape keeps the hem off the ground while giving you room to move.
