We cut these loose palazzo pants with a high rise and an elastic drawstring waist to anchor the top. The legs bow outward through the hips and taper slightly toward the lower hem, giving a loose barrel silhouette. A green and white checkered print covers the lightweight woven fabric.

Elastic drawstring waistband. We gathered the top onto a wide elastic band and threaded a functional drawstring through the front. The waistband sits high on the natural waist and holds the garment in place without binding.
Barrel leg shape. The pattern opens wide through the thigh and calf before pulling inward slightly at the hem. This curved cut lets the linen blend fall away from the leg, venting warm air while you move.
Side seam pockets. We set deep pockets directly into the side seams below the gathers. They sit flat when empty and carry small everyday items without distorting the drape of the checkered fabric.
