A wide harem cut gives these pants their shape. We build them from a light linen blend in a blackcoffee checkered print, with deep volume through the thigh that bows out before falling loose toward the hem. The elastic waist stays put with an adjustable drawstring.

• Waistband and rise. We use a high rise paired with an elastic waistband and an exterior drawstring. You pull the cord tight to set the position on your hips, leaving the gathers evenly spaced around the top.
• Barrel leg shape. The pattern borrows from both palazzo and harem cuts. The legs swell through the mid-thigh and drop low at the crotch, creating a rounded profile that stays clear of your skin as you walk.
• Side pockets. We set two deep pockets directly into the side seams. They sit below the waistband gathers so small items rest flat without pulling the linen out of line.
• Fabric and wash care. This linen blend breathes easily and softens with repeated laundering. Wash on a gentle cycle or by hand in cool water, then line dry away from direct heat. Steam iron to smooth out heavy creases.
