We cut these very loose through the thigh and leg so the linen hangs clear of the skin. The stripe khaki pattern runs vertical down the full length of the palazzo cut. An elastic waistband with a working drawstring keeps the fit secure without pinching.

• Wide palazzo cut. The leg falls straight and wide from the hip down to a broad hem. Extra volume through the harem silhouette allows the lightweight linen blend to move freely and vent warm air.
• Elastic drawstring waistband. We gathered the top with a wide elastic band and threaded a matching cord through the front. You can cinch it tight or let it rest low on the hips.
• Dropped side pockets. Two deep pockets sit along the side seams below the gathers. They are set low enough to hold a phone without pulling the waistband down or distorting the line of the leg.
• Linen blend care. Wash by hand or on a gentle cycle in cool water, then hang the pants on a line to dry. The fabric softens with each wash. Use a steam iron if you want the stripes flat.
