We cut this cropped palazzo wide through the leg so the linen hangs loose and vents heat. High side slits break open the volume at the hem, while an elastic waistband with an outer cord anchors the rise. Solid black gives the open weave a clean, saturated ground.

• Leg and side slits. We cut the palazzo leg generous from the hip down to a cropped length. Deep side slits split the outer seam, releasing the weight around the calf and letting air pass through as you walk.
• Rounded lower hem. Instead of a square cut across the ankle, the hem curves up toward the outer slit. The rounded edge keeps the linen from catching underfoot and gives the hemline a lighter drop.
