We cut these wide palazzo legs with a curved hem and high side slits that open up the lower leg. The purple blue linen weave is light and lets air pass through as you move. A gathered waistband with a matching cord keeps the fit loose and seated where you want it.

High side slits. The outer leg seam breaks into a tall slit that ends at a rounded hem. The fabric folds open when you walk, releasing trapped heat around the ankles and calves.
Elastic and cord waist. We set an elastic band through the waist casing and ran a flat pull cord through the front. It gathers the cloth evenly without binding, letting the linen hang straight from the hips.
Purple blue linen. The linen is light in hand and softens with each cycle through water. The purple blue yarn gives the wide cut depth without weighing down the cropped drape.
Washing and line drying. Wash on a gentle cycle in cool or lukewarm water, or wash by hand. Hang the pants on a line to dry and press with steam while the linen is still damp.
