We cut these palazzo pants loose through the thigh and straight down to a wide hem. The linen blend keeps its airy drape without clinging to the skin. An elastic waistband sits high and stays put, while the dot pattern breaks up the long line of rust red.

• Wide palazzo leg. The leg runs straight and wide from the hip down, leaving plenty of space for air to move. It creates an unhurried profile that finishes in a clean, level hem.
• Elastic drawstring waistband. We gathered the top edge on an elastic core and ran a drawstring through the casing. You can adjust the tension directly against the waist without binding.
