We took a soft fleece sweatpant fabric and cut it into an arched barrel leg that curves out through the calf and tapes back toward the ankle. Delicate lace tape runs down each outer leg seam to break up the solid black. The waistband sits easy on an elastic channel with a cord to secure it.

• Barrel leg cut. The leg bows outward through the knee and gathers slightly above the ankle. It keeps fleece off the shins and leaves room to move without dragging on the ground.
• Side lace trim. Narrow lace runs down the outer seam from hip to hem. The openwork detail sits flat against the black fabric, giving the casual profile a clean contrast.
• Elastic drawstring waist. A wide elastic band anchors the top block without pinching. Pull the flat cord to adjust the fit around your hips or waist.
• Wash and care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle to protect the lace edges. Tumble dry on low heat and avoid bleach to keep the cotton knit soft.
