We cut these sweatpants from a soft cotton-blend fleece in heather apricot. The barrel leg curves out through the knee before tapering in at the ankle. A band of open lace runs straight down each outer seam, set flat against the fleece so it lies smooth when you walk.

• Barrel leg cut. The curve starts below the hip, widens past the knee, and pulls back in toward the cropped hem. That gives your legs room without dragging on the ground.
• Side lace trim. We stitched a band of lace along each outer leg seam. It adds texture down the side while the fleece underneath keeps the structure steady.
• Drawstring waistband. The elastic band gathers softly at the waist. An adjustable cord lets you cinch the top tight or loosen it up for lounging.
• Launder and care. Wash cold on a gentle cycle to protect the lace edges. Tumble dry on low heat and skip the bleach so the knit fleece keeps its nap.
