We cut these trousers from midweight dark coffee corduroy that holds warmth through cold weather. The high rise pulls up easy on a wide elastic band with a flat drawstring. Volume bows out through the thighs and tapers back at the ankles, framed by plaid knee panels.

• Barrel leg shape. The outer seam curves outward through the thigh and calf, then pulls back in at the hem. This shape keeps fabric away from the legs while holding an architectural profile that does not drag.
• Plaid knee panels. We set contrast checkered fabric across both knees to break up the dark coffee wales. The panels add horizontal structure to the mid-leg and hold the curved silhouette when you sit or bend.
• Elastic drawstring waist. The high-rise casing holds wide elastic that stays flat without rolling. We threaded a dyed drawstring through the center front so you can cinch the waist tight over thick shirts or looser over bare skin.
