We cut these palazzo trousers with an open leg that falls straight from the hip. The smocked waist pulls on without hardware and adjusts with a self-fabric drawstring. Woven black and beige stripes run down the linen blend, giving the wide hems clean vertical lines.

• Smocked drawstring waist. A wide band of gathered elastic sits flat against the waist. We ran an exterior drawstring through the middle so you can adjust the hold before tying it off.
• Side ruffle pockets. Two deep hand pockets sit along the side seams. We finished each opening with a small gathered ruffle edge that breaks up the vertical stripe.
