We cut these palazzo pants wide through the thigh and hem so the linen blend falls straight without catching. The dark gray and white plaid gives the surface a quiet check pattern. A smocked waistband anchors the rise with an adjustable cord.

• Smocked waistband. The waist combines a gathered elastic band with a front drawstring. It sits flat across the middle and gives as you sit, while the cord lets you reset the tension.
• Wide palazzo cut. The legs drop wide from the hip down to a broad hem. We added a ruffle along the outer side seam to break up the vertical line of the check.
• Linen blend weave. The cloth mixes linen with softer yarns to keep the weave open and light. It holds enough body to drape cleanly around the legs and softens further after washing.
