We built this pair with excess room through the thigh and calf, borrowing volume from both harem and palazzo cuts. The linen blend keeps the weight down so the wide leg sways instead of pulling. An elastic band with an adjustable tie anchors the high rise.

• Leg and barrel shape. The cut bows outward below the hip and falls into a wide, airy barrel leg. That extra width lets air move freely through the fabric without catching at the knee.
• Waistband and tie. A wide elastic band sits high on the waist, secured with a flat matching drawstring. You can knot it tight or let it sit loose without the casing bunching up.
• Dropped side pockets. We set two deep pockets low into the side seams. They sit naturally within the folds of the extra fabric so your hands rest easy without distorting the drape.
