We cut these blue trousers with a low crotch and curved leg panels that gather the volume through the calf before tapering at the cropped hem. The linen blend is light, woven loosely to vent heat, and softens through regular wash cycles. A wide elastic waistband holds the top without digging.

• Leg shape and panels. Curved vertical seams run down each leg to build the lantern shape. The cut bows out around the knee, then draws back in above the ankle so the wide fabric does not drag on the ground.
• Waistband and rise. The waistband uses a wide band of encased elastic that pulls on over the hips and settles at the natural waist. Below it, the dropped crotch creates extra room through the seat and thighs.
• Linen blend fabric. We chose a lightweight linen blend with a visible weave and a soft, natural texture. The cloth holds its lantern shape while remaining airy enough for warm afternoons, gathering gentle wrinkles as you sit.
