We cut these loose through the thigh and taper the hem back in with small tucked pleats near the ankle. The linen-and-rayon blend gives the balloon leg a soft, weighted fall instead of a stiff flare. A flat drawstring runs through the casing to anchor the waist where you want it.

• Barrel leg shape. The pattern arcs out wide past the knee before drawing back toward the lower shin. Tucked pleats at the cuff control that volume so the hem does not drag across your shoes.
