We cut these trousers with an outward curve through the leg that narrows slightly toward the ankle. The elastic waist uses an adjustable cord so the rise stays where you set it. Woven black stripes run vertically down the linen, which softens with each wash and lets heat escape.

• Barrel leg shape. The pattern bows outward through the hip and mid-leg, creating volume that does not pool on the floor. It pulls back in at the hem so the cuff stays clear of your shoes.
• Drawstring waist. An elastic channel anchors the top without digging into your waist. We added an exterior flat tie so you can tighten the fit when the pockets are full.
• Deep side pockets. Two inset pockets sit along the side seams, cut deep enough to carry a phone and keys without pulling the waist down or distorting the leg profile.
• Linen wash care. Wash on a gentle cycle in cool or lukewarm water, or hand wash. Line dry in the shade to preserve the weave and keep the stripes sharp without using a hot tumble dryer.
