We cut these bloomer trousers from medium-weight corduroy with a velvety rib that holds its shape. The high rise settles on an elastic band with an adjustable drawstring. Down the leg, the volume expands into a loose lantern curve before pulling back in at the ankle with a ruffled hem.

Corduroy rib. The fabric has a distinct vertical wale that traps warmth during cool months. It feels soft right out of the package, with enough body to support the lantern shape without collapsing.
Bloomer leg cut. We gave these pants a dropped crotch and extra fullness through the thigh and calf. The leg balloons out gently, then gathers into an elasticated ruffle cuff that clears your shoes.
Waistband and pockets. An elastic casing wraps the waist, threaded with a self-fabric drawstring so you can adjust the tension. Deep slash pockets sit along the side seams to carry everyday items.
Washing and care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle or wash by hand. Lay the trousers flat in the shade to dry so the corduroy pile stays soft and the ruffled hems retain their gather.
