We cut these black pants with full lantern volume that gathers at the ankle before releasing into a ruffled cuff. The midweight corduroy holds its shape and keeps cool air out. A wide elastic waistband with a matching drawstring keeps the fit easy across the hips.

Ruffled lantern leg. The leg balloons through the calf and pulls inward above the hem with elastic gathering. A short ruffle finishes the bottom opening, resting loosely over boots or flat shoes.
Waistband and drawcord. We built the waist with a broad elastic channel that lies flat without binding. An adjustable self-fabric drawcord lets you set the tension where you want it.
Midweight ribbed corduroy. The black ribbed fabric has a soft surface pile and enough weight to hold the bloomer silhouette. It blocks drafts well in cool weather and breaks in softer with wear.
Pocket placement and care. Deep patch pockets are set directly into the side seams so they stay flat against the leg. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, skip the bleach, and dry flat in the shade.
