We cut these everyday trousers from a midweight ribbed corduroy that holds warmth without feeling stiff. The silhouette bends outward through the thigh and tapers slightly toward the ankle, keeping the hem off the ground while leaving plenty of room through the leg. A gathered waistband lets you set the rise where you prefer.

• Barrel leg cut. The leg bows out gently through the knee before tapering in near the cuff. This shape gives you room to move freely while keeping the lower hem tidy over boots and sneakers.
