We cut these loose cargo trousers from a medium-weight corduroy that holds warmth when the temperature drops. The barrel leg bows slightly at the calf before falling straight to the floor, balancing volume with structure. A wide elastic waistband with an adjustable drawstring keeps the fit easy across the hips.

• Wide barrel leg. We shaped the leg with room through the thigh, curving out slightly through the knee and dropping down to a wide open hem. The heavy corduroy ridges give the loose silhouette a distinct, rounded drape.
• Elastic drawstring waist. The waistband gathers softly on thick elastic that rests flat without digging into the waist. We ran a matching cord through the channel so you can knot it tighter or wear it resting lower on the hips.
